[07:05] Nick change: blindcod1r -> blindcoder [07:10] <blindcoder> moin [07:11] <blindcoder> ewiget: that's a good question. Try going to rock-src/misc/isomd5sum and run 'make' [07:11] <blindcoder> ewiget: then you'll get a meaningful errormessage [07:14] <ewiget> thanks....you awake enough for one more question? [07:16] <blindcoder> sure [07:16] <blindcoder> I just got up and have my coffee [07:17] <ewiget> anyways, trying to install in vmware as a guest os, install went fine but trying to install vmware-tools. It keeps asking directing of c header files, and defaults to /usr/src/linux/include (which exists) but won't accept it - guess if you dont use vmware, you might not know this answer, which is understandable [07:18] <ewiget> by the way, good morning, its about 1AM here [07:19] <ewiget> typo - directing should be directory [07:19] <blindcoder> morning it's 7 AM here :) [07:19] <blindcoder> I've never been able to install vmware-tools in any Linux guest OS [07:20] <ewiget> yea, I usually have a hard time too, but I cant get X to work at all in vmware [07:20] <blindcoder> X used to work fine here [07:20] <blindcoder> tried X -configure [07:20] <blindcoder> then just starting it? [07:21] <ewiget> didn't try that one, but I did the xorgcfg and other one...I will try X -configure [07:28] <ewiget> screen just went completely black, had to reset vmware. No big deal - I just wanted to see how pretty it was...before running a test install on a system [07:31] <blindcoder> well, ascribe it to one of the many quirks of vmware :) [07:32] <ewiget> yea....I am only using vmware at the moment cause Im doing a side by side shootout between vmware and qemu - which I like a lot better than vmware, however, I couldn't get X to work in qemu either [07:33] <blindcoder> :( [07:33] <blindcoder> anyway, gotta go to work now [07:33] <blindcoder> bbl [07:33] <blindcoder> and good luck :) [07:33] <ewiget> later and thanks for the help [08:03] <blindcoder> re [08:05] ewiget (n=ewiget@adsl-147-18-80.bgk.bellsouth.net) left irc: Remote closed the connection [08:58] <blindcoder> ah, it's thursday, alright [09:20] esdentem (n=esdentem@p5497BD8B.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) joined #rocklinux.
