[00:00] <stf^rocklinux> hi Bryanstein
[00:00] <stf^rocklinux> what's your question?
[00:01] <Bryanstein> hey
[00:01] <Bryanstein> I was wondering where the iso for the live cd is
[00:01] <Bryanstein> there are 4 isos listed
[00:01] <Bryanstein> but there are none on the site
[00:03] <Bryanstein> There are now four new ISOs available of the yet-to-be-announced ROCKate LiveCD:
[00:03] <Bryanstein> this is what is says on the site stf^rocklinux
[00:03] <Bryanstein> but there is nothing there
[00:04] <Bryanstein> are you still around ?
[00:05] <stf^rocklinux> yes
[00:05] <Bryanstein> any idea where I can find the rockate isos
[00:05] <stf^rocklinux> I think blindcoder has taken them offline
[00:06] <Bryanstein> arggg
[00:06] <Bryanstein> lol
[00:06] <Bryanstein> why would he do that
[00:06] <stf^rocklinux> I think it was for their uncertain legal status in Germany
[00:06] <Bryanstein> oh because of the latest law passed in Germany
[00:07] <Bryanstein> man that sucks...
[00:07] <stf^rocklinux> I think so
[00:07] <stf^rocklinux> building your own livecd shouldn't be difficult, though
[00:07] <Bryanstein> so I have no chance of using the live cd...I'm in the US
[00:08] <Bryanstein> well yes but I just need to fix a few things and I like to keep a live cd on hand
[00:08] <Bryanstein> I want it like yesterday...I have to save a few files on a partition
[00:09] <th> why dont you just remove the harddisk and put it into a pc, like with USB?
[00:09] <stf^rocklinux> I'm sorry, we don't have isos of the regular (not Rockate) livecd either atm.
[00:09] <Bryanstein> well that is a good idea but I would just rather slap in a live cd...upload the files to ftp
[00:10] <Bryanstein> then install from the cd
[00:10] <stf^rocklinux> but the rock3 bootdisk and crystal isos are also bootable and load a minimal linux into ram at bootup
[00:10] <Bryanstein> so will it boot into x or cli ?
[00:11] <stf^rocklinux> into cli
[00:11] <Bryanstein> is rock based on debian?
[00:11] <stf^rocklinux> rock based of course ;)
[00:11] <Bryanstein> I just found out about it yesterday
[00:12] <th> how can a distribution build kit be based on a distribution?
[00:12] <Bryanstein> I decided to ressurrect my g3 ibook
[00:13] <Bryanstein> well I had slightly read over the site and seen the build kit info, but I assumed it was debian based
[00:13] <Bryanstein> just by the name
[00:13] <th> by the name??
[00:13] <th> because "rock" sounds like "debian"?
[00:13] <Bryanstein> ROck...debian is rock solid
[00:13] <th> i'm confused now
[00:13] <Bryanstein> lol noo
[00:13] <Bryanstein> I didn't say that
[00:14] <Bryanstein> lol @ <th> because "rock" sounds like "debian"?]
[00:14] <Bryanstein> that was a good one
[00:16] <Bryanstein> anyhow... I just wanted something that I could dl quick...thanks I will use the boot iso and go from there
[00:16] <Bryanstein> i'll probably be back some other time...I'll build my own live cd and I'll surely run into something I'll need help with
[00:16] <Bryanstein> thanks guys
[00:16] <Bryanstein> I've gone
[00:16] <Bryanstein> I'm
