problem is I don't know how to do that
+ the fact that I use vmware to make it run
so it is either LSI or buslogic I guess
how come other distros recognise SCSI ?
is there no web page where I could download
nice tar.gz, compile and make it work ?
no package available or something ?

You will need to know the type of SCSI controller card and compile the driver into the kernel or as a module. If you decide to compile the driver as a module and are using the SCSI disk as the device with your operating system, then you will need to build a ramdisk (initrd). Hope this helps.
