Work that should be done for ROCK 4

• glibc 2.4, gcc 4.1.1, Xorg 7.1
• gnome update (finally)
• Installer. We need a new installer.
  • it must use /dev/disk (provided by udev) instead of /dev/discs (old devfs style)

• new Java license allows for distribution (Submaster)
• /etc/rc.d/init.d/system needs to be split into /etc/rcS.d scripts using a sysinit directive in /etc/inittab
  • this is necessary to get a sane separation into init-time stuff and initrd-time stuff (mounting the filesystems should really go to initrd or funny root-on-foo stuff will be a mess (YES, I tried))

  • definition of the dependency format and integration in the installation and update process
• improve documentation:
  • write mine and rocket man pages,
  • update existing wiki pages (esp. wrt. to latest release),
  • copy all docs from the Documentation/ source directory to the wiki, and (semi-)automate synchronizing the two.
• sane udev rules (e.g. existence of /dev/dsp)
